When does Chucky leave Dead by Daylight?

Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM ET (8:00 AM PT). After that, the Chucky Chapter and every Chucky cosmetic disappear from the in-game store and from every platform store. If you already own him, he stays in your roster. If you don't, you have one month.

Behaviour Interactive announced the removal on Oct. 23, alongside a support FAQ that answers most of the obvious questions. It does not answer the one everybody asks first, which is why. Behaviour gave no reason. GameSpot assumes the license is expiring, which is the usual story with licensed killers, but nobody at Behaviour or Universal has said so.

Chucky, The Good Guy, joined Dead by Daylight in November 2023. He was the 44th Killer, voiced by Brad Dourif, small enough to lose behind a generator and slow enough that it mostly evened out.

The timeline

  • Oct. 23, 2026: Removal announced.
  • Oct. 26: "Last Chance Sale" starts at 50% off on Epic Games Store, Xbox/Windows Store and Switch in North America. Switch Europe follows Oct. 27, Switch Japan Oct. 28.
  • Nov. 2: Sale starts on PlayStation.
  • Nov. 10: Sale starts on Steam, which means Steam players get the shortest discount window of anyone.
  • Nov. 24, 11:00 AM ET: Chucky and his cosmetics can no longer be bought anywhere.

On Steam the chapter is $4.99, so the sale price works out to about $2.49.

Reader questions

I own Chucky. Do I lose him? No. Anything unlocked before the cutoff stays playable. You can keep leveling him, buying his add-ons with Bloodpoints, earning his three Prestige cosmetics and perk charms, and getting quests for him. Behaviour also says he keeps getting bug fixes after he leaves the store.

What happens to his perks? If you own him, they keep their names and flavor text in his bloodweb. If you don't, the three perks move into the general pool under new names right away:

  • Hex: Two Can Play becomes Hex: Eye For An Eye
  • Friends 'Til the End becomes One Track Mind
  • Batteries Included becomes Gaining Steam

So everyone keeps the perks. Only the doll goes.

Can I buy his outfits later? No. The last chance for any Chucky outfit is the same Nov. 24 deadline, and Behaviour says no new outfits are coming. If you own him and want the Tiffany skin, buy it before then.

Refunds? None. Behaviour's reasoning is that owners see "zero changes in gameplay," so there is nothing to refund.

What about achievements and cross-progression? Chucky's achievements become generic ones. Anything you already earned stays earned, and progress carries over. Content you unlocked also stays unlocked if you link platforms through a BHVR account.

Can I still stream him? Yes. Behaviour says there are no streaming restrictions on the chapter.

This has happened before

Chucky joins a short list. GameSpot notes that Pinhead was delisted in 2025 and that Michael Myers, plus his map, were later pulled as well. Owners kept both killers. The map, which was a free update, went away for everyone. Chucky's chapter doesn't include a map, so there's nothing comparable to lose here.

Bottom line

Chucky leaves Dead by Daylight's stores on Nov. 24, 2026, at 11 AM ET. Owners keep everything they've unlocked. Everyone else gets his perks under new names and loses the option to buy the doll. If you've been meaning to pick him up, the discount starts Oct. 26 on most platforms and Nov. 10 on Steam. Buy before the 24th.
