Hyper Dash goes offline as a multiplayer game today, November 1, 2026. Triangle Factory's own Hyper Dash page puts it plainly: "After this date online play will no longer be available."
The game still boots. That part was planned. The final build, released back in July, was built to keep running after the servers turn off. What it runs is a team shooter with no team.
Can you still play Hyper Dash?
Yes, offline. In its sunset announcement on Steam, Triangle Factory said it "made sure this build can be continued to be played offline even after we turn off all our servers." The patch notes for that build unlocked all skins in offline mode and allowed customization offline.
What you don't get is anyone to shoot. Online play, including matchmaking and the server browser, is gone as of today. TechPowerUp reported that offline play appears limited to solo play.
If you still have Hyper Dash installed on Quest, Steam, Pico or Viveport, keep it installed. That's the copy you'll be playing from now on.
Will there be community servers?
No, and the studio said so up front. Per the announcement, "the game relies on some third party software that doesn't allow us to open up the game for community hosting."
That's the detail that decides how dead this is. Plenty of shuttered shooters live on through fan-run servers. Hyper Dash's own developer has said that route is closed, at least officially.
Why is Hyper Dash shutting down?
Money, stated without decoration. Triangle Factory wrote that Hyper Dash "is no longer generating enough revenue to cover its ongoing server and maintenance costs," and that the cost of supporting it kept climbing as the game aged.
Hyper Dash was the studio's first big VR game. It ran from early alpha tests in 2019 and stayed free-to-play on Quest and Steam the whole way. Triangle Factory went on to make Breachers, and the Hyper Dash community was there for all of it.
What happened to my credits and DLC?
DLC sales ended when the shutdown was announced. As a send-off, every player got 6,000 free credits to spend on skins and other items. Those cosmetics carry over into offline mode, so the drip survives even if the lobby doesn't.
No refund program was announced.
Is Hyper Dash dead?
As a multiplayer game, yes, as of today. As a piece of software, it's in better shape than most. Plenty of live-service games simply stop launching when the servers go. Hyper Dash keeps an offline build, cosmetics and customization, which is more than most shutdowns leave behind.
It's still a competitive VR shooter now playable by exactly one person at a time. Triangle Factory signed off with "We'll see you in the arena one last time." That was the last time.
