Lord of Nazarick, the turn-based mobile RPG based on OVERLORD, will end service on December 16, 2026, at 10:00 AM (UTC-2). The game's official X account announced the closure on October 14, saying the team had "made the difficult decision to end the service of Lord of Nazarick" after careful consideration.

That works out to 7:00 AM Eastern, 4:00 AM Pacific, and noon UTC. If you're in Phoenix, it's 5:00 AM, which is early even for an undead sorcerer king.

What already closed on Oct. 14

The first half of the schedule took effect the same morning it was announced, also at 10:00 AM UTC-2:

  • In-game purchases and top-ups are disabled.
  • New account creation is closed.
  • The game is gone from all app stores.
  • The official Discord is closed.

So nobody new is getting in. If the app is already on your phone and you can still log in, you have until December 16. If you deleted it to free up space at some point, that decision is now permanent.

What happens Dec. 16

At 10:00 AM UTC-2 on December 16:

  • Login is disabled and the servers go offline.
  • The official website and social media accounts close.

The announcement doesn't mention refunds, an offline mode, or any way to keep your account. AnimeMojo and GamerBraves also note that no reason was given. With the shop already closed, all that's left to do is spend whatever premium currency you have on the characters you were saving for.

Two years, roughly

Lord of Nazarick launched worldwide on October 29, 2024 on iOS and Android. Perfect World Games developed it, and Crunchyroll Games and A Plus Japan published it. It shipped with more than 50 characters from the anime, including the Floor Guardians and the Pleiades, plus PvP, alliances, roguelite dungeons, and a retelling of the story with new canon scenarios.

It will close about seven weeks after its second anniversary.

The awkward part

The publishers' own launch description summed up the premise: after twelve years with his favorite MMORPG, Momonga "logs in for the last time," only to find himself transported into its world.

On December 16 the players get the same last login without the part where anything happens afterward. The servers go off as scheduled, and Nazarick goes with them.
