EA will retire online services and product support for Madden NFL 24 on April 26, 2027. The EASPORTS Madden dev team posted the notice on the EA Forums on October 7, opening with "Thank you for your loyalty and passion for Madden NFL over the years."
The first deadline is much closer: Madden Points can't be bought after October 28, 2026, which is eight days from now.
The dates
- October 28, 2026: Madden Points leave the store. Points you already own still work until online services shut down.
- April 26, 2027: online services and product support retire on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.
- After that: offline modes keep working on all five platforms.
The post doesn't list which features go. Anything that talks to EA's servers is the safe assumption, and that includes wherever your Madden Points were going to be spent. Use them before April.
Trophies and achievements
According to TrueAchievements, seven online-only achievements will be discontinued on both the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One versions. Five of them, Pocket Ace, Lockdown Leader, Ol' Reliable, Gain Train and The Fortress, require taking your created player to max level at different positions. That's a lot of grinding to fit into six months. PlayStation LifeStyle notes that the PlayStation trophy lists take the same hit.
You can't buy it digitally anyway

Madden NFL 24's Steam page now says the game "is no longer available on the Steam store." TrueAchievements and PlayStation LifeStyle report that it's also gone from the Xbox Store and PlayStation Store. EA removed it from EA Play on February 17, 2026, and TrueAchievements notes it left Game Pass Ultimate with it. If you want those achievements and don't already own it, you'll need a disc.
EA also hasn't added Madden NFL 24 to its own online service updates page yet, as Delisted Games pointed out. The forum post is the only official notice so far.
Right on schedule
Madden NFL 24 came out in August 2023. EA's service page shows the pattern: Madden 22's online services ended on October 20, 2025, and Madden NFL 23's on July 13, 2026. Madden NFL 24 follows in April 2027.
That's a little over four years online for Madden 22, just under four for Madden 23, and three years and eight months for Madden 24. Each one gets a few months less than the last. Nobody seems surprised, which may be the most consistent thing about the series.
