Capcom is ending online service for Monster Hunter Puzzles: Felyne Isles, its free-to-play match-3 spin-off for iOS and Android, on January 14, 2027, at 11:00 AM JST. The official end of service notice went up on October 19, alongside a post from the Japanese account.
In US time, that's the evening of January 13: 6:00 PM Pacific, 7:00 PM in Phoenix, 9:00 PM Eastern.
The unusual part comes next. Capcom is releasing a paid, offline edition called Monster Hunter Puzzles: Felyne Isles Furever, and you can carry your current save into it. For a mobile shutdown, that counts as a happy ending.
The schedule
November 12, 2026, 11:00 AM JST
- In-game purchases stop.
- VIP License subscriptions stop selling, and existing ones won't renew. You don't need to cancel anything.
- Master Rankings end.
- The Furever version is scheduled to release.
January 14, 2027, 11:00 AM JST
- Online functions shut off.
- The app is pulled from new downloads.
- Customer support ends.
Gems and boosters you've already bought stay usable. After January 14, the original app keeps running for anything that doesn't need a connection, but Capcom stops supporting it.
Will I lose my progress?
You don't have to, but there are conditions. Per Capcom's notice:
- Don't delete the current app. The transfer runs through it. Delete it and you can't move your data.
- Update to version 2.25.00 or later before January 14. Older versions can't transfer.
- Stay on the same platform. Transfers go through iCloud on iOS or Google Cloud on Android, and iPhone to Android (or the reverse) isn't supported. If you're planning to switch phones, do it while the online game is still running.
- Expect some losses. Furever changes some features, so part of your data won't carry over or will be converted.
Capcom says step-by-step transfer instructions are coming later. It also warns that if Apple or Google change their cloud backup systems, transfers could stop working, so waiting until 2030 is a gamble.
What is Furever, exactly?
It's a buy-once version that doesn't need a connection while you play, though Capcom notes it may check in on startup to confirm your purchase. It won't be sold in some countries and regions, and Capcom hasn't announced a price.
Capcom also confirmed ports of Furever to Nintendo Switch and Steam, with release dates to come. So a game that just announced its shutdown is also getting two new platforms.
About two and a half years
Felyne Isles launched on June 27, 2024, according to 4th Journal and Gameforce Mobile. It mixed diagonal-swap match-3 puzzles with Felyne island rebuilding, avatar outfits, and friend visits across more than 1,500 stages. Capcom didn't give a reason for ending the live version.
The usual mobile shutdown deletes everything and wishes you well. This one asks you to keep the app installed, update it, and pay once to keep playing. Compared with most of the shutdowns we cover, that's generous.
