Yes. Ubisoft is sunsetting Rainbow Six Mobile, and its online services end on Jan. 15, 2027. The developer message went up Oct. 8 on Ubisoft's mobile help center, alongside a post on X that opens, "There's no easy way to put it."
The US App Store lists the game's release date as Feb. 23, 2026. Ubisoft's own site still has a header with "02 23 26" on a bomb timer. The timer will have run for less than 11 months.

The dates
- Oct. 8, 2026: Shutdown announced.
- Next week: A new season launches "as planned," per the X post.
- Jan. 15, 2027: Online services end, and the game stops being playable.
GameSpot reported the date as Jan. 16. Ubisoft's posts say Jan. 15, so we're going with Ubisoft. No time of day has been given yet.
Reader questions
Can I still play? Yes, until Jan. 15. The developers say the next seasons "will be released as planned," so there's more content coming before the end.
Will there be an offline mode? Nothing announced. Ubisoft's site describes the game as "an online tactical based 5v5 FPS," and the notice talks only about online services ending. Assume it stops working on Jan. 15.
Am I getting a refund? Ubisoft hasn't said yes. The FAQ asks, "Are you planning a refund strategy for last season's content?" The answer is that players "will still have a few months to enjoy" the game and that "additional details on the transition will be shared with players in the upcoming weeks." Until those details arrive, think twice before buying anything new.
Was it the player count? Ubisoft asked itself that question in the FAQ and answered something else: "The decision to sunset the game was made to align our resources with our long-term strategic priorities." Polygon quotes the official site saying the team will "move on to other long-term strategic projects." Ubisoft hasn't said which.
Does this affect Rainbow Six Siege? Nothing in the announcement says so. It covers Rainbow Six Mobile only. Siege had 40,622 people playing on Steam when we checked at 5:29 AM MST today. That's one snapshot, and it doesn't count console players.
How we got here
The developers count "15 seasons" since a soft launch in 2023. Polygon puts the first beta in September 2022 and the international launch in February 2026. That means about three years of regional testing and less than one year of worldwide service. It is free to download, and the App Store lists Ubisoft Nova as the seller.
GameSpot notes that the next Rainbow Six game, Rainbow Six Tactics, is due next year.
Bottom line
Is Rainbow Six Mobile dead? Not yet. It has one more season coming and about three months left. Online services end Jan. 15, 2027, and Ubisoft hasn't announced an offline mode or refunds. Play it while it's still up, and hold off on buying anything until Ubisoft publishes the transition details.
