Monday, Dec. 14, 2026. That is the day Supercell says Squad Busters "is no longer playable." Two weeks earlier, on Dec. 1, the game leaves the App Store and Google Play. If it is already on your phone by then, it keeps working until the 14th. If it is not, Dec. 1 is your last chance to download it.
Supercell posted the dates in its Squad Busters' Final Timeline page and on X on Oct. 14. The page adds that "all events and timers will end on 14 December" and that "there is nothing you need to do before the game closes." Questions go to squadbusters@supercell.com.
The timeline

- Oct. 14, 2026: Supercell sets the final dates.
- Dec. 1, 2026: Removed from the App Store and Google Play.
- Dec. 14, 2026: Servers off. Game unplayable.
Reader questions
Can I still play right now? Yes. Matches, friends and recurring events run until Dec. 14. Nothing is for sale, and nothing new is coming.
Will there be an offline mode or private servers? No. Supercell's FAQ says the game "won't be playable offline or through private servers," citing its terms of service. It also ruled out releasing the code, since the game is built from characters across every Supercell franchise.
Can I still move my purchases to another Supercell game? Not anymore. The transfer of 2025 purchases into Clash Royale, Brawl Stars, Clash of Clans, Hay Day or Boom Beach closed at the end of 2025. Purchases from 2024 were never eligible.
What happens to my profile and stats? They go away with the servers. Supercell's suggestion is to take screenshots or clips before Dec. 14.
Could it come back? Supercell says there are "no plans" to. If the idea ever returns, the company says it would be a fresh start and "potentially as a different type of game."

How we got here
Squad Busters put Supercell's whole cast into 10-player party brawls and arrived with the kind of pre-launch numbers most studios frame and hang in the lobby. It did not hold. In its October 2025 post, Supercell was unusually blunt: "What we learned was that we had got it wrong." The Heroes update in May 2025 was meant to fix the core; the company called it the boldest change of its scale in its live-game history, and it still did not find "a lasting solution."
Supercell is famous for killing games in soft launch, before most people ever see them. PocketGamer.biz notes this is the first time it has shut down a mobile game it launched globally. Squad Busters skipped the long beta on purpose, and so it gets a public funeral.
Bottom line
Squad Busters leaves app stores Dec. 1 and goes dark Dec. 14, 2026. Keep it installed if you want the last two weeks. No offline mode is coming, purchases are long gone, and Supercell has already said goodbye twice. For the rest of the year's closures, see our 2026 shutdowns list.
