Sometime after May 2027, and the game survives it. Bandai Namco says the online service for SYNDUALITY Echo of Ada ends after May 2027, with the exact date to be announced around March 2027. Existing owners get a free offline version that keeps the game running as a solo PvE extraction shooter. The catch: your progress only comes along if you transfer it yourself.

The development team announced the change on Sept. 26 in Japan, and Bandai Namco's North American site posted it on Sept. 28 alongside an FAQ. The October 2026 event is scheduled to be the last online event. After that, no more updates or events for the online game.

The schedule

  • Sept. 26, 2026: End of online service announced; offline version confirmed.
  • October 2026: Final online event.
  • Dec. 18, 2026, 00:00 JST: Sales of items end, including paid SYN COINS. That's Dec. 17 at 8 a.m. in Phoenix.
  • December 2026 (scheduled): Transfer of online save data to local save data begins.
  • Around March 2027 (scheduled): Exact end-of-service date announced.
  • After May 2027 (scheduled): Online service ends. The game becomes offline-only.

Reader questions

Do I have to buy the offline version? No. The FAQ says current owners can update to the offline version for free. Physical copies work too: you apply the offline update using the game disc.

Will my save carry over? Only if you do the paperwork. You have to complete "designated transition procedures" while connected to the internet during the transfer window. Skip it and you start the offline version with a new save. Bandai Namco says it will explain the steps, the required game version, and how to confirm the transfer worked before the window opens.

What transfers? "Some" save data and "designated purchased items," per the announcement. Bandai Namco hasn't published the full list yet. Whatever qualifies only comes along through the transfer. If you don't migrate, it stays behind with the servers.

What happens to my SYN COINS? Paid SYN COINS expire 150 days after you first activate them, and that rule doesn't change. Bandai Namco says it picked the Dec. 18 sales cutoff so coins bought at the last minute still get the full 150 days. A Dec. 17 purchase activated right away runs to about mid-May 2027. Unused paid coins won't be refunded, so buy only what you'll spend.

What do I lose offline? The PvPvE part. The announcement says "some functions needing online elements" will be removed. Other Drifters showing up to ruin your extraction is the main one.

Who do I ask about my account? Bandai Namco customer support. The FAQ says the official X and Discord accounts can't help with individual saves, coin balances, or purchase history.

How we got here

Bottom line

SYNDUALITY Echo of Ada's online mode ends after May 2027, and the game continues offline as a free update. Spend your SYN COINS on time, watch for the save-transfer window in December, and actually do the transfer.
