NetEase is ending Tank Company, its mobile 15v15 tank shooter, on November 9, 2026, at 12:00 UTC. The official announcement went up September 9. The store pages went with it. If the app is still on your phone, you have a few more days of matches. If it isn't, you're already locked out.
Is Tank Company shutting down?
Yes. Per NetEase's notice, the timeline is short and final:
- September 9, 2026: Removed from all app stores. Downloads disabled. New character creation and in-app purchases turned off. Existing in-game currency and items stayed usable.
- September 9 – November 9, 2026: Servers stayed online. Installed copies kept working.
- November 9, 2026, 12:00 UTC: Servers permanently shut down. The game stops being playable.
The notice is clear about reinstalls: once downloads were disabled, the game cannot be put back on a device. NetEase's advice was not to uninstall if you still wanted to play through the wind-down window. That advice ages poorly after November 9, when there's nothing left to connect to.
What kind of game was this?
Tank Company was a free-to-play mobile tank battler from NetEase Games. The pitch was large-scale armored fights — 15v15 matches with customizable machines and the usual live-service loop of upgrades, seasons, and currency sinks. NetEase announced the global Android launch around mid-September 2022, putting the live run at a little over four years from that launch window to the lights-out date.
It was never a Steam or console title. It lived on phones, which means the shutdown is a full stop: no offline campaign to fall back on, no LAN mode, no "single-player leftover." When the servers go, the app is a dead icon.
Can I get a refund?
The official notice does not say. It does not promise refunds for purchases, unused currency, or items bought before September 9. It does not point players to Apple or Google refund forms either. If you want to try, you will be dealing with your app store's ordinary purchase policies on your own timeline — and old mobile IAPs are rarely easy to claw back after a sunset notice has already aged for two months.
For account or access questions while the lights are still on, NetEase lists tankcompany@global.netease.com.
What to do before November 9
- Play it if it's installed. After 12:00 UTC on the 9th, the servers are gone. Currency and cosmetics are worth nothing once the matchmaking queue dies with them.
- Don't uninstall. The game is already off the stores. A deleted install cannot be restored.
- Screenshot the garage if you care about the loadouts. Nothing in the notice mentions an export, transfer, or offline keepsake.
- Email support only if you have a concrete account issue. The address above is the one NetEase published; expect the usual end-of-service response times.
Tank Company spent four years asking commanders to perfect their war machines. On November 9 at noon UTC, the garage closes for good.
